Christmas Eve 2007

Well...we spent this year's Christmas Eve a little differently than in the past. Emma had a stomach virus that lasted 6 days and fortunately was doing pretty well by Christmas Eve, then Elizabeth got it and Ben eventually did by late Christmas Eve. Elizabeth, Ben, and Emma were supposed to light the candle for the advent wreath at our Christmas Eve service and luckily Elizabeth, Emma and Ben were well enough at this point to do this. After the service, we were supposed to have Christmas Eve dinner at Grandmother and Granddaddy's with the family but unfortunately this year we were unable due to by Granddaddy being placed in the hospital with pneumonia and congestive heart failure so we had dinner at my aunt and uncles and then after this we headed to Lancaster, SC to do Christmas with them there since we knew we wouldn't have them with us on Christmas day. Elizabeth, Ben and Emma were unable to come because of being sick and not wanting to risk infecting Granddaddy with anything. I also had a cold or something so I just stood at the door during everything so I wouldn't pass along anything to him. After we left the hospital we headed back home and on the way home Will spotted Rudolph's red nose - he was so very excited (It was actually just a tower with a flashing red light)! It was sad to know that we wouldn't be able to spend Christmas day with my grandparents but at least we still were able to spend time with the family and celebrate the real reason for the season - Christ being born!!!
