Clemson vs. Central Michigan

Rick was actually able to take a day off to go to Clemson's Homecoming game this year - Clemson vs. Central Michigan. My grandparents also came to the game and had a blast! It was a blow-out - 70 to 14! The Tiger set a couple of records during the game for his push ups (I believe 385) - got a picture posted of this! Will had lots of fun with everyone and was worn out by the end of the game as you can see from all of the pictures!

These two pictures are of us arriving to Clemson - Will gets so excited when he sees the Whoa Whoa's (tiger paws and flags)

Play time with Emma and Aunt Mary

While Ben, Elizabeth and Emma were here helping me out after my surgery, Will and Emma had lots of fun taking a bath together, playing on Will's rocking horse (we actually had two and gave one to Emma, which she absolutely loves!), playing with any toy in their sight actually, playing dress-up in Will's old Tiger costume from last year and playing peek-a-boo with me! Here are pictures from the weekend!

Ben's Birthday - "His Golden Year"

Ben turned 29 this year on September 29th and he, Elizabeth and Emma came to stay with us that weekend to help me out after my first surgery. In celebration of Ben's birthday, we went to the zoo (Will had his first ride on the carosel), out to eat at Five Guys and then topped off the night with some ice cream from Marble Slab Creamery - Yummy!!! We had a wonderful time this weekend just hanging out and we very much appreciated all of the help from them!

So it's been a while and I actually have an excuse!

So it's been a while since I've done some blogging and I actually have a legitimate excuse - 2 surgeries! On September 24, 2007 I had my surgery on both of my eyes to fix the drooping eyelids from the Kearns Sayre Syndrome! I would have to say that it was somewhat a traumatic experience with doing both eyes at the same time - if I ever have to do it again, I'll do one at a time if possible! I was very fortunate to have my parents, my grandparents and my sister and brother-in-law come to help me out during the week and week-end! After the first surgery my mom took Will out to pick out some flowers for "my momma" and here is a picture of them:

The light sensitivity was awful and only began to start clearing up a week and a half after the surgery (a Wednesday)....in the mean time I went back to work even with the sensitivity (looking back on it all now I realize this probably wasn't a great idea!). When that Wednesday night came along where things started getting much better for me, I became very excited and couldn't wait until the next day to see what it would hold for me! What I awoke to the next morning was not what I expected - my right eyelid was almost totally closed - I waited around a little while that morning in hopes that it wasn't as I expected but after a little while I called the doctor and luckily Elizabeth and Emma were here with me helping out so, Elizabeth, myself, Will and Emma all piled into my car and went to visit the doctor! After taking a look at my eye, she said that the rod had broken and that we were going to have to go through another surgery....so another one was scheduled for October 8, 2007! After this 2nd surgery, things have seemed to be much better - recovery has been wonderful - at least much better than after the first one! The main thing that I'm dealing with right now is just the dry eyes and this is bearable most of the time! I returned back to work on October 22, 2007 and have been having to catch up with lots of work so I'm trying to take it easy and just do a little at a time! I've posted a picture of me after the first surgery and the second one just so you can see the differences - still not looking wonderful but it's getting there! I can't wear make-up yet so I'm looking forward to the day that I can again so I can get some color back to my face! :) It's kind of nice not to have to wear it also because it takes much less time in getting ready for work in the mornings without it! ;)

ELMO MAKES MUSIC 2007

Will and myself went to Elmo Makes Music today, Sunday, September 9, 2007, at 2:00 pm and we had a BLAST!!! Will loved the singing and dancing that the Sesame Street characters did today and loved getting to dance around himself! The letter of the day today was "J" and the number of the day today was "8!" It was an awesome experience for Will and I loved being able to do this for him and enjoy in the fun myself! I, of course, had to get him something and we got him an ELMO doll and a t-shirt and there are pictures of his gifts and a slide show of the Elmo Makes Music show!

ANOTHER WONDERFUL GIFT FROM MOMMY'S FRIEND

Beth gave Will yet another wonderful surprise today...a little baseball mitt with a ball ceiling fan pull. It is so cute and Will loves it! Thanks Beth! Here are some pictures!

2007 CLEMSON VS. FSU

Clemson had a "W" against FSU on Labor Day 2007.....barely a "W" but we did pull through in the end! :) They played an amazing game in the first half but don't know what they brought out on the field after half time because it wasn't the great team that we saw in the first 2 quarters! Hopefully they will only continue to progress in their season and play as well as they did in the first part of this game all season long! We'll see what the rest of the season holds! :) Here are some of my favorite pictures from the game and a slide show of all of the rest:
